- be scheduled to undergo clinically-indicated rehabilitative upper extremity surgery.
- have no change in muscle strength testing in the past 6 months.
- have no or almost no muscle function below the elbow.
- have a body weight below 220 lbs (<100kg).
- NOT be wearing a pacemaker
