- have a spinal cord injury for 12-30 months.
- have a neurological level of injury between C1 and C8.
- have one of the following ASIA impairment scale (AIS):
- AIS B: incomplete; have some feeling, but no movement, below the injury
- AIS C: incomplete; at least some feeling and mostly weak movement below the injury
- AIS D: incomplete; at least some feeling and, some weak but mostly stronger movement below the injury)
- be between the ages of 18-75 years.

- Only participants who have completed the main phase of the STIMO study will be invited to participate in this trial.
- In addition, the participant must:
- have a spinal cord injury for at least 12 months.
- have a neurological level of injury at T10 or above.
- have one of the following ASIA impairment scale (AIS):
- AIS A: complete; no feeling or movement below the injury
- AIS B: incomplete; have some feeling, but no movement, below the injury
- AIS C: incomplete; at least some feeling and mostly weak movement below the injury
- AIS D: incomplete; at least some feeling and, some weak but mostly stronger movement below the injury)
- be between the ages of 18-65 years.
