- Be a resident of British Columbia, Canada with active provincial medical services plan
- NOT be ventilator dependent
- NOT have history of cardiovascular, respiratory, bladder, or renal disease unrelated to SCI
- NOT have history of seizures(epilepsy or recurring headaches
- NOT have an intrathecal baclofen pump
- NOT have had past electrode implantation surgery
- NOT have implanted metal in the skull or pacemakers, stimulators, or medication pumps in the trunk
- NOT have history of gastrointestinal atresia or stenosis
