The Therapeutic Effect of Betaine in Syringomyelia

About this trial

This trial is enrolling 30 participants with refractory syringomyelia to test the effect of betaine on symptoms. Betaine is a drug used to manage or stabilize the balance of water within cells and tissues. If included, participants will receive either 50mg/kg of betaine or a placebo drug for 12 weeks. Final testing of sensory and motor function will be performed after 3 months.
