About this trial

This trial is enrolling individuals with chronic spinal cord injuries to test the effect of counterstrain manual manipulation treatment on pain and spasticity. Counterstrain is a common therapy in osteopathic medicine. The technique locates "tender points" and passively and gently places the patient in a position of comfort to reduce the tenderness. If included, participants will undergo counterstrain osteopathic manual manipulation three times per week for four weeks. Final testing for pain, spasticity and quality of life will be performed after 4 weeks.
