  • have had a traumatic SCI for at least 6 months.
  • have a neurological level of injury between C1-S5.
  • have one of the following ASIA impairment scale (AIS):
  • AIS C: incomplete; at least some feeling and mostly weak movement below the injury.
  • AIS D: incomplete; at least some feeling and, some weak but mostly stronger movement below the injury).
  • have some degree of motor function in ankle flexors and extensors.
  • be between the ages of 18 and 80 years.
  • NOT have another device implanted inside their body
  • NOT have metal in any part of the body, including the eye.
  • NOT have a history of epilepsy in the family.
  • NOT have a history of seizures.

  • have a spinal cord injury for at least 2 years.
  • have a neurological level of injury between C4 and T12.
  • have an ASIA impairment scale of AIS A: complete; no feeling or movement below the injury.
  • be between the ages of 18 and 60 years.
  • be able to breathe independently.
  • have intact range of movement in the affected joints.
  • NOT have a known allergy to pyridine-containing drugs.
