This trial is enrolling 32 participants with spinal cord injury (or traumatic brain injury) to test the effect of selective dorsal rhizotomy on spasticity. Selective dorsal rhizotomy is a surgical procedure that cuts specific sensory nerve fibers involved in excessive muscle activity. If included, participants will undergo rhizotomy under general anesthesia, with neuromonitoring used to identify the nerve fibers supplying the most affected muscle groups. Final testing of spasticity will be performed after 6 months.
