Empowerment Program to Reduce Treatment of Asymptomatic Bacteriuria in Veterans With Spinal Cord Injury

About this trial

This trial is enrolling 30 veterans with spinal cord injury to test the effect of a patient empowerment program on bladder health. If included, participants will receive veteran-focused marketing information and self-advocacy tools delivered via email or mail. The program includes guided training, a bladder symptom decision-support tool, and role-playing exercises to support communication with healthcare providers, thus promoting appropriate antibiotic use. Final testing of bladder function will be performed after 1 year.
