Shoulder Health After Rehabilitation and Performance Training

About this trial

This trial is enrolling 40 participants with spinal cord injury who are manual wheelchair users recently discharged from primary rehabilitation to test the effect of individualized, home-based shoulder strength training on shoulder pain. If included, participants will be randomly assigned to a 12-week strength training program (twice weekly) starting either 3 months or 12 months after discharge from primary rehabilitation. Final testing of shoulder pain will be performed after 15 months.

    NOT have any surgical implants that exclude the participant for MRI assessments of the shoulder
