Cold vs. Paraspinal Stimulation for Erectile and Urinary Function in SCI Patients
About this trial
This trial is enrolling 30 male participants with chronic spinal cord injury to compare the effects of cold stimulation (ice massage) versus transcutaneous spinal stimulation (tSS) on sexual and urninary function. tSS is a non-invasive technique that uses surface electrodes to deliver electrical stimulation aimed at modifying spinal cord function. If included, participants will be randomly assigned to receive 3 sessions a week for 4 weeks of either an ice massage applied to the suprapubic and inner thigh region for 20 minutes per session, or 30 minutes of tSS. Final testing of sexual annd urinary function will be performed after 4 weeks.
