UTSW NORC Pilot Spinal Cord Injury Dietary Program

About this trial

This trial is enrolling 20 participants with chronic spinal cord injury to test the effect of a dietary program for SCI-related (neurogenic) obesity. The program is modified from the National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP). If included, participants will complete weekly telehealth sessions with a certified dietician. Final testing of body fat composition and insulin sensitivity will be performed after 9 weeks.

    - Participants will complete a 9-week telehealth-based, dietician-guided program modified from the National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP). - They will attend weekly telehealth sessions with a certified dietician and provide feedback on the perceived benefits and challenges of integrating the diet into daily life. - Final testing of body fat composition and insulin sensitivity will be performed after 9 weeks.
