Transcutaneous Spinal Cord Stimulation for Bowel Management in Individuals with Motor Complete Spinal Cord Injury
About this trial
This pilot trial is enrolling 5 individuals with spinal cord injury undergoing initial inpatient rehabilitation to test the feasibility and safety of transcutaneous spinal stimulation (tSS) on bowel function. tSS is a non-invasive technique that uses surface electrodes to deliver electrical stimulation aimed at modifying spinal cord function. If included, participants will receive daily 30-minute sessions of tSS for 10 consecutive days. Final assessment of feasibility will be performed after 2 weeks.
